The Vineyard

In the Vineyard, ten (10) noble European and Greek varieties of white and red grapes are cultivated according to the rules of organic farming.

Agiorgitiko is the main variety of red grapes cultivated in the vineyard, while in a small area the varieties Xinomavro, Syrah, Merlot and Carpernet Sauvignon, Xinomavro are cultivated.

Of the white varieties, Malagouzia, which is a native variety of Acarnania, is the most prevalent in the vineyard, while in smaller areas the varieties Chardonnay, Moschofilero, Assyrtiko and Robola are cultivated.

The stony limestone soil of Xiromero, enriched with rich forest topsoil, the good sunshine, the cool mountain microclimate and the traditional cultivation with the rules of organic agriculture, guarantee the production of grapes with excellent quality characteristics.

The cultivation of the estate’s vineyard is done with traditional low-row techniques and parallel application of the rules of organic agriculture, with the aim of producing wine grapes of superior quality. The cool, mountainous microclimate of the area as well as the limestone, rocky soil of the estate contribute significantly to this.

It should be noted that the vineyard is located on a sloping site at the foot of the Acarnania Mountains at an altitude of 500-550 meters with a northern exposure that is not affected by spring frosts, while in summer a cool breeze prevails that prevents disease and insect attacks.
